Chanthattam

Chanthattam is another important offering at the Chettikulangara temple. This offereing in second to the most important offering, the Kuthiyottam. Chanthattam is observed almost daily except on some special days. Chanthattam is done before the Ucha Pooja or noon time offering to the goddess. There are nine Kalasham or pots made ready for Chanthattam. Chanthu is a special mixture made of teak wood and some green medicines. This offering is not very common. Chanthattam is done to do away with all badluck. This offering is believed to bring happiness and prosperity.
